The Order Sorting Node (NSO) is the digital document transmission system for companies in the National Health Service and their suppliers. Since 2019, it has therefore been compulsory to send order documents for the purchase of goods or services exclusively electronically through this system. The latest data from the State General Accounting Department indicate that more than 8 million documents are transmitted via NSO every year, around 38,000 every day.

The fully electronic management of orders has, in just a few years, made possible automation of purchasing processes and significant savings in terms of time and costs. Public administrations can thus check in real time the entire procurement process and the receipt of the electronic invoice through the Interchange System (SDI) of the Revenue Agency.

NSO is a platform similar to the Interchange System adopted for electronic invoicing, and in addition to the management function it also validates the transmission of public healthcare purchase orders.

NSO uses the international UBL XML standard, where UBL stands for Universal Business Language. A format that has a close relationship with the European e-procurement project PEPPOL – Pan-European Public Procurement On-Line, which encouraged Italy and other countries of the European Union, as well as the United Kingdom, to adopt this standard.

PEPPOL was created with the aim of providing public administrations across the European Union with a single tool for exchanging invoices, orders and transport documents. Access to the PEPPOL network requires the use of accredited access points such as A-Cube.

A-Cube can integrate an NSO management system into its line of professional e-procurement products, but it also offers a turnkey version called NSO Facile, which for a small annual fee allows you to manage orders without needing integrations or installations. Simply sign up, receive the PEPPOL identifier and start receiving NSO orders straight away at your email address. From a simple browser in your personal area you can always view and search the documents received. If you are looking for a simple and fast solution for your NSO orders, from today you can rely on NSOFacile: https://www.nsofacile.it/

If you need a solution more integrated with the systems you already use, A-Cube APIs also offer the possibility to manage all stages in a single solution covering order, payment and invoicing, with independent modules or in a package that can be fully integrated with the systems you already have. But the A-Cube products dedicated to the healthcare world do not end there! Are you a doctor, dentist, psychologist, or do you run a private clinic or a polyclinic? Professionals working in the medical field are required to communicate to the National Health Card System the medical expenses incurred by taxpayers. A-Cube is able to generate the XML file and send it automatically to the TS System for the production of the pre-filled 730 tax return with the medical expenses of the patients for whom the invoice was issued.
